What to Expect

After morning pickup from your hotel in Kathmandu (within the Ring Road), Patan, or Bhaktapur, your private guide takes you on a 90-minute drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot sits about 19 miles (30 kilometers) from Kathmandu.

 

At sunrise, if the weather’s clear, you’ll see the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Mansiri, and Rolwaling ranges of the Himalaya in the distance. Stop for breakfast in Nagarkot at your own expense.

 

Follow your guide down a walking trail to the village of Rohini Bhanjyang, which offers more great mountain views. Continue through the hamlets of Kankre and Tanchok to Tusal, then ascend uphill through farmland to Opi.

 

Then, head to Changu Narayan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you explore the 2-story pagoda-style temple that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Relax on the return drive to Kathmandu where your tour ends with hotel drop-off in the early evening.
